With our RECOVERY BASE, we have gone one step further, and perhaps even a few steps further, and have sustainably optimized everything that is known about mattresses. With 8 configuration options for personalized sleep and only one goal: to get more real rest out of your sleep. The mattress is crucial for restful sleep, and thanks to its high adaptability, it adapts to the individual needs and preferences of many body and sleep types.

The foam core:

At the heart of the BASE is its foam core – made of 2 specially developed, different layers, soft and hard, as well as its new, unique pattern. The configuration can be adjusted by turning the BASE and therefore fits different body types and sleeping preferences.

But it's not just the interplay of the layers, the foam itself is also very special. Developed especially for your recovery, our new hybrid foam is characterized by its open-cell, and thus maximally breathable structure. It also stands out due to its high resistance to pressure deformation. Thus, our reversible mattress combines ergonomics and durability in a whole new quality that, strictly speaking, cannot be compared to conventional cold foam mattresses at all. But: it's best to compare for yourself.

The mattress topper integrated into the BASE adapts to the contours of your body, providing additional pressure relief and ensuring you sink in just the way you want to – especially into a deep, restful sleep.

Let's not kid ourselves. In addition to inner values, the outer appearance also counts. The cover of our BASE is made of innovative, breathable CELLIANT® fiber. A high-tech material that absorbs your body heat, converts it into infrared energy and reflects it back to your body. This temporarily increases local blood flow and increases the oxygen content in the tissue. This supports the body's thermoregulation.

Naturally certified in OEKO TEX® Standard 100 Class 1 and MADE IN GREEN. Of course, removable and washable (the underside of the mattress cover with the anti-slip coating is not washable. Remove this before washing the cover). And last but not least: the non-slip coating on the underside, as well as the practical handles on the side, ensure perfect handling of your BASE – which is available in the sizes 80x200cm, 90x200cm, 100x200cm, 120x200cm and 140x200cm.

Useful information

90 nights with your BASE. Sleep on it first!

The mattress cover can be easily removed with a zipper and is washable at 60°C. Before washing the cover, remove the underside of the mattress cover with the non-slip coating. This is not washable.
Do not iron, do not bleach and do not tumble dry.
The topper and the foam core are not washable.

1x RECOVERY BASE in the size ordered

The RECOVERY BASE mattress is available in five sizes:

80 x 200 cm (14.4kg)
90 x 200 cm (16.6 kg)

The mattress is 22 cm high. (The foam core is 19 cm high, the topper 3 cm.)

The topper is deliberately slightly shorter than the foam core in length to prevent it from standing up over the foam core and getting caught when the zipper is closed. The material of the topper is very elastic in the longitudinal direction - so you can also stretch it a little if necessary.

The RECOVERY BASE is a universal mattress and is suitable for all bed types. It is compatible with a box spring bed, a slatted frame, a loft bed and much more.

How CELLIANT® works

While you sleep, your body emits heat. The CELLIANT® fibers absorb this heat, convert it into infrared energy and reflect it back to your body. This infrared energy is absorbed by muscles and tissue, causing blood vessels to dilate temporarily. This improves local blood flow and brings more red blood cells to the cells – thus also increasing the oxygen supply to your cells. This is how CELLIANT® helps you to recover faster and improves your body's thermoregulation, Image/ Texx promoting restful sleep.

Very soft to the touch, extremely strong in support – that's our topper for your RECOVERY BASE: the viscoelastic foam provides optimal pressure relief and gives you an extra portion of lying comfort. The secret behind it: our topper reacts to body heat and pressure points, adapts perfectly to your contours and guarantees a customized sinking in. Thanks to memory foam, the topper remembers its initial position, preventing a hollow from forming.

FAQ

The RECOVERY BASE is an all-rounder when it comes to firmness. In total, you can choose between 8 different configurations with different levels of firmness.

The foam core consists of two different types of foam. One hard side (purple) and one soft side (green). If you compare the degree of hardness with other manufacturers, then the green side corresponds to a degree of hardness of H2 and the purple side to a degree of hardness of H4. Depending on how you turn the mattress, you will sleep on either the hard or soft side. In addition, both types of foam contain a special cut-out pattern for side sleepers, so that shoulders and pelvis can sink in. If you primarily sleep on your back or stomach, you can turn the mattress 180 degrees so that your upper body is lying on the part without a pattern (i.e. with internal cuts).

By turning and flipping the mattress, you can already experience 4 different levels of firmness.

On top of that, you can add the Visco foam topper that is included. The mattress topper allows the mattress to adapt to the contours of your body and provides pressure relief. With the optional use of the topper, the RECOVERY BASE mattress offers eight different configuration options.

Of course. However, with the 140 cm wide mattress, it is easier if you have help from a second person. In our configurator, we help you choose your personal comfort option.

Yes. After all, we want to make it as easy as possible for you and not keep you from sleeping: the ends of the foam cores are numbered from 1 to 4. The topper is marked with a +. You can find out your individual configuration in our configurator on this page.

For production reasons, the mattress is always delivered in the order shown in Configuration 1: first the soft green layer, followed by the firm pink layer, and finally the topper at the bottom. You can then easily convert the mattress at home according to your individual preferences. Answer a few questions in our configurator and the composition for your perfect mattress will be displayed.

The RECOVERY BASE is a universal mattress and suitable for all types of bed. It is compatible with a box spring bed, a slatted frame, a loft bed and much more. We recommend that you do not place the mattress directly on the floor if possible, as this restricts air circulation and can have a negative impact on the sleeping environment.

Of course. You can wash the mattress cover at 60°C. The lower part of the cover (with the non-slip coating) is not washable. Remove it before washing. Do not iron, bleach or tumble dry the cover. The topper and the foam core are not washable.

Yes. Body heat is absorbed by textiles and reflected back to the body, even through several layers of fabric. In the case of CELLIANT®, the minerals in the fibers reflect infrared heat back to the body. Find out more about CELLIANT® technology.

The bonded foam core has 37kg/m³ with two different compression hardnesses. The green side has a lower compression hardness, the purple side has a higher compression hardness.

You simply place the topper at the bottom of the mattress cover, i.e. under the foam core. And if you fancy a bit of extra comfort, you can take the topper up and place it on the foam core.

Yes. Our mattress is also a restful BASE for children.

Yes. Regular washing of the mattress cover at 60°C can remove mites and dust. Regular vacuuming with an upholstery nozzle also helps.

Our RECOVERY BASE mattress is rolled up for transport and thus compressed. We recommend that you let the mattress lie for 24-72 hours before use to reach its full size.

Since it takes some time to get used to a new mattress, we give you 90 nights to test it. Make yourself comfortable on the mattress at home. And if it's not right for you, we'll pick up the mattress from your home free of charge. You can find more information about the 90-day sleep trial here.

We offer a 10-year guarantee on the BLACKROLL® RECOVERY BASE. This relates to the dimensional stability and durability of the mattress core materials, but not to the cover. The legally prescribed two-year guarantee applies to the cover. You can find all the detailed information in our guarantee conditions.

The Recovery Base is carefully designed to offer you the best possible sleeping comfort. With its innovative construction from two hybrid foams, it offers an excellent balance of support and pressure relief. The right degree of mattress firmness is crucial for restful sleep, as it supports spinal alignment without pressure points.

The choice of firmness should be based on your individual comfort level, with body weight and height being important factors. An ergonomic mattress that relieves pressure points while supporting the body is ideal for an orthopedically correct sleeping position. Our RECOVERY BASE offers you optimal pressure relief thanks to the different degrees of firmness and its specially designed pattern – you can configure it according to your individual needs. As a rough guide, people up to 100 kg can use the green foam as a sleeping surface if they prefer a soft mattress. People up to 130 kg should tend to choose the purple hybrid foam as a sleeping surface so as not to sink in too much and thus not put too much strain on the spine.
